Urban Ahlin i mullornas tjänst

...the MP [Boroujerdi] emphasized Iran's insistence on using the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, reminding that the established international rules and regulations entitle Iran to the use of the technology.

For his part, head of the visiting Swedish parliamentary delegation and deputy chairman of the Swedish Parliament's Foreign Policy Commission termed effective increased dialogues and exchange of views by the Iranian and European parliamentary and political officials, saying that the measure would help clarify the two sides' joint stances and prevent negative propaganda against the Islamic Republic.

Ahlin further stressed the need for continued parliamentary ties between the two sides.

Underlining that western media's perception and understanding of Iran does not comply with the realities, he said that Iran can change the said image through increasing its diplomatic activities and cooperation in solving regional crises.

The Swedish parliamentary official also stated that the US president's policies on Iraq and the whole region have proved futile in establishing security and stability in the region, and stressed that the US invasion of Iraq has left a destructive effect on the entire region.
For his part, deputy chairman of the Swedish parliament's Foreign Policy Commission, Urban Ahlin and his accompanying delegation denounced the extremist measures adopted by the followers of some religions, including insults to the holy prophet of Islam (PBUH), or the terrorist measures of al-Qaeda, and stressed the necessity for more talks to shed light over the common grounds.
